Born in Northern Thailand, June’s passion for cooking grew at an early age from time spent with her mom in the kitchen. As an adult, she came to L.A. to get her master’s degree in economics, but ultimately answered the creative calling that connected and nurtured the cultures she loves.
In Los Angeles, June found herself surrounded by local farmer’s markets and their bounty of fresh, organic produce and food stalls. Local flavors and ingredients, a blend of childhood memories and a longing for traditional Thai breakfast, would inspire her to create her own twist on ‘Thai breakfast’. Her signature rice porridge, “It’s a Joke”, has been recognized as one of the best breakfasts in Los Angeles by L.A. Magazine in 2017 — “simplicity is the best”.
